Service Advisor
A Service Advisor is the link between the customer and the workshop.
Main responsibilities:
- Greets customers and understands vehicle issues.
- Explains recommended repairs and maintenance.
- Provides cost estimates and obtains customer approval.
- Communicates with technicians about vehicle repairs.
- Keeps customers updated on repair progress.
- Delivers the vehicle back to the customer and explains completed work.
Key skills: Customer service, communication, sales, and basic automotive knowledge.
Automotive Technician
An Automotive Technician diagnoses, repairs, and maintains vehicles.
Main responsibilities:
- Inspects vehicles and identifies mechanical or electrical faults.
- Performs repairs (engine, brakes, suspension, transmission, etc.).
- Conducts routine servicing and maintenance.
- Uses diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot problems.
- Tests vehicles to ensure repairs are successful.
Key skills: Mechanical aptitude, problem-solving, technical knowledge, and hands-on repair experience.
